Ask And It Is Given

Ask and It Is Given

I love to read the entire works by Florence Scovel Shinn. I’m intrigued that she was born in the late 1800s and talks about energy concepts as it relates to God and the Bible.

Her classic book is The Game of Life and How to Play It.” In it she says, “Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game. It is a game, however, which cannot be played successfully without knowledge of spiritual law. And the Old and New Testaments give the rules of the game with wonderful clearness. Jesus Christ taught that it was a great game of Giving and Receiving.

I do not claim to be a Biblical scholar in any sense of the word, but some things just resonate with me. What I garner from her words is if you give love, you will receive love. If you give unwarranted criticism, you will also receive it as well. Hate begets hate and lies lead to more lies.

Isn’t that powerful? We are all indeed powerful manifesters.

The Bible says, “Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) It also says, “Ask and it is Given. Seek and You shall find and Knock and the door shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8) It is one of my favorite passages.

Today, watch your thoughts and words for negativity and try to turn it around into a positive intention. Keep the thought and let me know if anything changes for you to the positive.

In fact, I often start my day with one of Florence’s prayers:

Today, I surrender my goals and plans to the care of the Universe. I offer up my agenda and accept spiritual guidance. I trust that there is a plan far greater than mine. I know that where there was once lack and limitation, there are spiritual solutions and creative ideas. I step back and let love lead the way.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21
